{What to Expect}

This is just a little note so that you know what to expect when I take pictures for you!
  • I am very flexible about outfit changes, locations, number of people included in the shoot, and how long a shoot can be! Basically whatever you want works for me! If you have specific ideas/plans for pictures, just let me know, and I'll do my best to accomodate you! If you prefer lots of color or black&white/sepia, let me know! Also, if you get the pictures back and want some changes made, I will do that free of charge.
  • I give you all the edited pictures on a memory stick or DVD. I recommend that you print the pictures out at Costco, or other high quality photo printing places. (FYI: I used to think that London Drugs had the best quality pictures, but I recently printed out a few pictures at London Drugs and Costco and compared, and the Costco quality and coloring was definately better.)
  • I don't put a limit or number on how many edited pictures you will get. Usually I weed out the bad ones and duplicates and give you the rest. For example, on a wedding, I may take 1800 pictures, but you probably get about 600-900 pictures.
  • As for editing, most of the changes that I make to pictures you will not be able to see! I try do things like making the grass greener, the sky blue-er, editing out that one dead  branch that sort of ruins the tree, editing out the light switch, the plug-in, dirty spots on clothes, watery eyes, baby drool, etc. Sometimes I even change heads around, move arms and legs and hair around. I use the Creative Memories Memory Manager Program to edit my pictures. (If you want more information about the program, let me know! Correen Slawson and Jackie Fawns are two very good Creative Memories consultants that I would recommend).
  • I still have not completed a pricing list, because I find it very hard to make. One thing I have decided recently is that no photo shoot will cost under $50. To be honest, I really don't make much money with photography. Its more of a hobby for me. But I am learning that my time is valuable, and I need to charge more. Editing takes a LOT of time, and I am going to start charging to cover my editing time. If you want a quote, just email me, facebook me, or phone/text me! (Please note: I do try to keep my prices low, because I think that everyone should have the opportunity to be able to afford nice, fun photos that capture special memories.)
  • Please remember that I am not a professional photographer. I am a perfectionist, and give my 100% best on all my photos. But if you want professional pictures, go to a professional photographer.
My photography style varies: But I do generally prefer outdoors and natural lighting. I also really like black & white and sepia coloring. I like to try fun things and making you laugh. I like props, but I don't have many of them.

If you wish, you can purchase gift certificates from me. They won't have an expiry date, and can be any amount that you wish.

Also, just because you know me as family or friend, please don't feel like you have to ask me to take your pictures. I have had family and friends who ask other photographers to capture their special moments, and they apologize to me. I honestly, really won't be offended!! Photography is a hobby for me, not my living. Each photographer has different styles and different styles appeal to different people.

I have a few recommendations that may make you happier with the turnout of the photos:
  • wear bright colored clothes-it makes the pictures pop!
  • if you want to appear slimmer, wear black!
  • If I photograph your wedding, I do like to get together beforehand to discuss things, and go to the rehearsal, as well.
  • If you want photos of your newborn, the first week of his or her life is the best time to take photos (because they sleep through everything, hopefully!). Also a warm, fed, sleepy baby will be the happiest. (But I realize that babies run on their own schedule, so sometimes happy sleeping babies won't happen, and thats ok!)
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to let me know!
